In the year 1445, on the Isola di Ponza. A castle stands tall against the warm weather of Italia, a fortress in times of hardship, and a glowing reminder of the saftey of the people on the Isola. Those farmers, merchants, and others whom live beyond the caste's walls are some of the happiest beings on the planet at the time. Those within, however, are the reason for the castle's nickname: Castello di Miseria.
One dreadful night a fire burst forth from the kitchen. All the dwellers of the Isola came and tried to put the fire out. After three hours of seemingly pointless attempts, they got the fire out. The damage to the kitchen was substantial, and the daughter of the duke’s charred remains were found in the pantry once a full sweep of the are was done.
Returning to the home of thier father’s father, young Adriana Serafina Belluci and her brother Massimo Luigi Belluci take on the responsibilities of caring for the Isola. Massimo spends his time with the people, learning the tales of the Castello’s past and coming to terms with his new position of power.
Adriana, however, distances herself from the people. They are all too content with their place in life. Besides... something’s wrong with her. She keeps stumbling down strange hallways, finding her way into places she shouldn’t, and the messages... messages from things no longer here, if they ever were.
